How Did it get to be Day 3 already!

Time flies when your traveling! I believe when I left last we had arrived in Nairobi, but that was where I left it. We breezed through customs with our VIP meet and greet (well worth the little bit of extra $$ IMHO) and headed to our B&B for 2 nights in Nairobi.

Arriving in the dark and at 11:30 pm we weren’t sure exactly what our accommodations would be like, but we weren’t disappointed! On the outskirts of Nairobi in the suburb of Karen one can find B&Bs, boutique hotels, upscale hotels and of course, Giraffe Manor.

We spent our free day just running a few errands, having a FABULOUS lunch at The Talisman and re-packing and preparing for our flight north to Nanyuki on Friday morning. The 15kg weight limit is for real so one must plan accordingly.

Nairobi

We were fortunate enough to get to fly to Samburu before Nanyuki so saw some amazing landscape we would have missed otherwise. Bush flying in Kenya is more like riding a bus in the US- you make several stops along the way. Know which one is yours!

We have arrived at a little piece of heaven on earth and are grateful to our friends Gordie and Felicia Church of Safaris Unlimited for hosting us. Normally this would be a 8 day horseback safari in the Masai Mara, but this has not been a normal year by any stretch of the imagination. I.am excited to see a different part of Kenya and experience what is on our agenda the next few days.
