I had no idea such a wonderful experience in hospitality and game viewing existed right in Nairobi! Fortunately, a friend had been there a few months before me and suggested I add The Emakoko to my list of properties to check out while I was doing my site inspection tour of Kenya. Below are a few pictures of our room and the common areas of the boutique lodge. All open air, beautiful and inviting! The food was fantastic – apparently I ate it too quickly to get pictures.

I was NOT disappointed. Our guide, Elizaban Kinuthia, a veteran guide that started his career in the northern Samburuland was, like all good guides, a treasure trove of knowledge and ability at finding game and giving us lessons in natural history.
